Working on goals for 20 18

Good Afternoon beautiful people! There comes a time when something happens that makes you stop and start looking at other options for your life. For me my career has caused me to start developing a business plan for opening up my own restaurant.

One of my concerns that is causing me hesitate is working around food constantly all day. I am scared that this could cause me to overeat and possibly start gaining weight. However it may help me to develop better control and refrain from eating unhealthy foods. Nevertheless this had always been a life long goal of mine and I am eagerly looking forward to opening Tracy tasty treats. Lol! I know I am going have to work on that name.

Since we are mentioning goals. Exercise is one of the most important part of any weight loss plan. I don’t care if you had weight loss surgery or not. You still got to get physical and stay physical to achieve and reach your weight loss goal for the rest of your life.

Nevertheless I started back attending the YMCA and went with my 18 years old teenage son. Big mistake this boy/man pushed and motivated me like nobody has ever did. My big butt is sore in places I didn’t know you could be sore. My thighs, all over my arms, right up above my wrist and between my elbow. I mean I did my cardio and then hit the weights to work on my lower body that day. But I didn’t think I over did it. However I had to skip Thursday to recoup.

Note to self again: don’t let your Son guide you when you are exercising at the YMCA. I had to add a picture I took while getting my sweat on at YMCA.

Don’t hate the picture hate the game. Lmbo!

Your classes are your best tools.

Good morning Ladies and Gents! I wanted to do a update about my progress and losing the weight I have regained. But first let me mention that my blog was nominated as one of the Top Bariatric Surgery blogs!!! Can I get a hand clap!! Yes go Tracy!! Even though I feel like I really need to be more consistent with my blogging. This gives me the motivation to better!!

Well so far I have lost about 5 of the pounds I gained. That’s a start and I am gradually working my way back. You know we can sit down and write what all we are going to do and have it all planned out but when a box of donuts roll by and you will forget your whole plan if you don’t have any willpower. I realize now why the nutrionist kept repeating and instructing us to not reintroduce thosre foods we love back into our systems. Because this could be the catalyst that restart weight gain. But when you taking classes to prepare for your surgery. That stuff just don’t stick until you are here were I am at right now. Exercising is so important and you have to do it. I don’t care if you are just sitting in a chair doing it. Just do it.

So I am encouraging anybody that is considering these surgery to pay attention in the classes and listen to what your nutritionist and doctors are teaching you. Because they are the experts and they really know more than we will ever know about this process.

On a mission to get back on track.

Good morning person! I got some bad news this morning. I step on the scale this bitch had moved up 13 pounds. My knees gave out on me and I fell to the floor. I was so devastated and distraught that I passed out for a few moments.

Now let’s stop right here. Let’s marinated on this for a few minutes. Let’s think about what got me here. First of all I ran out of my protein and didn’t drink them for about 2 or 3 weeks. I endudge in some buffet meals, Thanksgiving, not exercising, stayed started drinking soda. The list go on, and on. My first sign that something was amissed was when I put on a pair of pants that was loose before but was now tight as hell!! I couldn’t even sit in the bad boys. 🤔 I knew I was going have to weight Myself the next morning.

Now here thing…..I am very aware how 10 pounds can turn into 10 more pounds and another 10 pounds. So I am on a mission to get back on course. Most people would just give up and not be able to regroup. But not me. I refuse to get caught up in my daily life duties and neglect my weight. Shoot I like looking sexy in my clothes and being able to stop traffic. 😉. Lol…but for real. I can’t go back to were I came from. I am on a mission to get back on track. Heck no it is not easy but it can be done. Keep me in your prayers as I regain my focus and drop these last 30 pounds that I have been trying to lose since I started this journey.

When you underestimate the weather. 

Good morning beautiful people!! Am I the only person who plan all kinds of stuff to do in your head, that can help you meet your weight goal and don’t do it.

Well I was determined to actually do something that I had planned in my head for a change.  So……..I plan a mile walk and only did half a mile at most.  For instant……I knew I was babysitting my beautiful baby last Saturday and she loves to take walks outside.  So I told my daughter to bring her stroller because we’re going for a walk that day.

First mistake….I got dressed and left the house with her in the stroller eating on her snack around 11:30 in the morning.  Yea, yea…. I know ….. that’s when it is starting to get really hot. Well it wasn’t… at first.  But that changed real quick.

Second mistake….I tried to get all glammed up….(you know pretty) big mistake… First the sun was bearing down on my wig.  (important note to remember… Wigs do not block the sun) The jeans was not comfortable to walk in and I didn’t put socks on with my tennis shoes.  You talking about a slipping and sliding mess.

Third mistake….I should have taken A stick to fight off any creatures that decide to investigate Addie and I.  Especially since little Addie want to holler “dog” at anything with four legs and do her imitate of a growl at the creature.  Note…some animals want to growl back and attack.

Fourth mistake….I really thought I was going to walk a whole mile out in that hot and humid mess.  I was missing the YMCA with its air conditioner, fan and TV on each machine drying my sweat.  The cold water foundation that I could go to at any given time.

Fifth dang mistake…I forgot to download the dang walking app so I could see how many steps I took and how far I walk.

At this point I don’t know if I will ever, ever, ever start jogging outside.  I think I am spoiled by the YMCA.

My July 4th creations and hosting at my home

Good morning beautiful people! 

I love hosting at my house for holidays and dinners.  I love family coming together enjoying themselves while trying new dishes I have made and they are my little guinea pigs.  What I detest is parents who don’t control their kids and let them run amuck all over my dang house.  Since I started hosting I have had three windows to get broken and nobody knows how it happened.  I end of chasing dang flies and whatever else got in the house for days.  Its like the dang parents forget they are parents and they let their kids do as they please because it’s not their house.  So yesterday… When this started happening I went off and scared the bejesus out of the kids.  Everytime they saw me coming they would run to their parent or grandparent.  Heck  I didn’t care.  If your little minions are under the age of 5 you need to keep those little bad boogies beside your butt.  I mean really I have two sets of stairs and the little rascals barely can walk and their mothers is not playing attention and the first place they head is the stairs. For whatever reason the stairs always attracts them first.  However not in my house …..or you can stay your butt home.  I am so dang tired because I chased those little suckers all night.  Next time I will make rules  about keeping  your kids with you.  I wished I had a stepper on..I know I walked over 10000  steps.  

Rant over….Now as you can see from the videos and pictures I made three desserts.  Strawberry shortcake with cheesecake in the middle, Oreo cake with cheesecake in the middle, Red velvet Earthquake cake.  The best thing is I didn’t eat one piece.  I ate a pecan off the bottom of the red velvet Earthquake cake and that was it.  Shoot I only ate one hamburger patty and one half of a hotdog wenier.  I was to busy chasing  kids and fixing food.  Heck I know I didn’t get my protein in because I forgot to eat.  Lol. I will fixed that today.

Happy July 4th!! Rules for eating on this day.

Good morning beautiful people! Today is one of the hardest days of the year for someone like me who has had weight loss surgery.  Because you can over endudge and stretch the heck out of your little Shellies!! 

Hotdogs, hamburger, barbecue chicken, steaks, ribs, potatoes  and pasta salads, potatoes chips, beer, mixed drinks ….oh my the list goes on and on and my mouth just starts to water. 

Here are some tips from Tracy…. When you go to the table to make your plate….

  • Walk right by the bread.  Leave it alone, don’t look at those sweet Hawaiian hamburger and hotdogs buns that have been cooked to perfection.  Strut, dance, do a split just walk on by!!
  • Walk by the mixed alcoholic drinks that have those little delectable pieces of fruits just floating in that beautiful color alcoholic sugar filled liquid.  The fruit just be waving and begging you to just taste one.   Don’t do it… Here is a fact that was drilled in my head by the nutritionist.   Alcohol reacts different in our bodies…(weight loss surgery patients)… first your body metabolic takes the alcohol and makes it the number one priority and burns it first therefore it is not burning your fats or carbs…. Therefore no weight loss until the alcohol all gone.  Plus we get drunk so much faster than a normal person and boy do it take forever to wear off.  I learned that real quick.  Even though I am not a drinker…I sip a little something every blue moon and then I limited it to only one or two sips.  I promise you I feel it real quick.  I never ever drive when I do… Because it lingers forever.
  • Walk by the sweets, potatoes, pasta salad and chips.. Don’t look, don’t peep don’t make any eye contact.  Just keep it moving and grab a paper towel to wipe the saliva off your lips.

Go straight to the meats… Pick you a piece of chicken cut it in half, get you a piece of steak cut it in half, grab a ground beef patty (hamburger meat) and you guessed it …cut it in half.  You can add some cheese and mustard and ketchup to it.  Take your one bite of that chicken, steak and hamburger and walk always.  Because that’s all your little Shellies can hold anyway.  Wrap your plate for later and go mingle and laugh with family and friends.  Grab your water bottle and sip away while still looking sexy and lean.  You can do it. I know you can.  

Now let me bake this red velvet earthquake cake and strawberry and oreo cream cheesecake cake for my cookout.  Then I will practice my own rules again.  Lol.  I know you are looking at your screen like what the hell.  But I don’t like strawberry cake and I have always detested Oreo cookies.  I never liked anything with cream in the middle.  But that dang red velvet earthquake cake….  (Shaking my head) we are going to war.  Love ya!!

You got to love you!

Good morning beautiful people!!! I want to discuss body image.   I know I am not the only one who will walk by something that shows your reflection  and think dang I am still fat.  You will notice your flabby arms, thick thighs and big gut and wonder why everybody keep saying you are melting away.   Because all you see is your former fat self.   Here is the thing that we got to remember is that…. the mind is deceiving YOU!   YOU have lost a significant about of weight.  YOU are making good food choices!  YOU got a lot to be proud of!  Body image can derail any weight loss goal.


However all you got to do is remember this phrase protein first.  I never understood this until later after my surgery how important this phrase was.  Protein first is a phase that everybody who ever had gastric bypass surgery needs to post on their refrigerator. Hang it in your bathroom, hang it from your stove, or it in the cabinet doors… So when you open the door you see it.   Make a bracelet, put it in your car, put it in your office refrigerator.  Shoot  put in on your home screen of your cell phone and lap top.  When you keep seeing this phrase everytime you go to eat anything you can control your eating  habits.  Unless you are over eating and stretching that pouch which will lead to weight gain.

What we have to understand is that protein is a nutrient that helps us feel fuller, longer. If we include proteins in each of our meals or healthy snacks, we’re less likely to feel hungry when it’s not time to eat.

I know you are wondering  what can I do to be effective to ensure that I lose and maintain my weight loss.  In my opinion the number one rule is to eat protein rich foods first. See here is the thing after  surgery, your body will need adequate protein to help build, repair, and maintain muscle tissue and organs. Protein deficiency can occur over an extended period of time which can cause fatigue, hair loss, and muscle wasting.   I remember when I was about three months out after my RNY gastric bypass… My fingernails were so soft and brittle I could barely stratch  myself. Then my big dumb self tried to cover them up with fake nails.  Omg… That hurt so bad it was crazy.   I hurried up and bought Boltin.  Then my hair started falling out also…. Talk about going thru.  That was a really hard period to go thru but I made it thru.  The hair issue was not so bad for me because I love wigs.
Just remember Proteins are one of the essential building blocks of the human body and you need them.

The next time you walk by something that shows your reflection.. Say to yourself.  I look good, and I am doing good therefore I am good! 😊  You got to encourage yourself!! Because you are your biggest motivator.  Love the skin you are in.  Because you could still be that former you.
